General Dentistry

Depending on your condition or treatment requirements we will request you and X rays for an exhaustive examination as a second diagnosis phase. These images can show tooth and bone structure and decay that might not be easy to view with a regular exam. Radiographs are extremely important to diagnose your condition and therefore to recommend the best treatment and to detect or identify a potential infection.

By examining your x-rays as a second phase of diagnosis, your International Smiles Dentist would like to discuss treatment options and we are happy to do this at no additional charge.

DEEP CLEANING

Under proper dental health conditions, dental hygiene should be performed at least twice a year. Our cleanings are thorough and we make sure to properly clean every tooth surface because they are performed by professional and specialized dentists with an arduous training in the field.

NIGHT GUARD

Currently, due to the social context of the pandemic, consultations for headaches have increased during the first hours of the morning, as well as the more conscious clenching that is applied during the day, changes in work and family situations and the anxiety and uncertainty of not knowing what to expect in the future is an important factor in the diagnosis and management of bruxism.

At International smiles we make a custom fitted night guard for our patients with bruxism or TMJ disorders to help prevent tooth destruction and jaw pain from excessive clenching and grinding

Pain with the temporomandibular joint and the surrounding muscles is usually referred to as Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD). Bruxism and TMD can combine to cause multiple problems, such as: cracked teeth, headaches, clicking, popping, and grinding sound in the joint

or pain in the joint and night guard will help you to reduce the pain and pressure placed on the teeth by protecting them from damage and the muscles by bringing them into an ideal position to relax and functionally reprogram their position during the night protecting also your temporomandibular joint

MANDIBULAR ADVANCEMENT DEVICE (MAD)

Is an alternative treatment modality and solution for snoring and sleep apnea for those individuals that qualify. It is also sometimes called a mandibular repositioning device (MRD).

MADs are usually recommended to treat mild forms of sleep apnea, reducing the symptoms and effects by protruding your jaw into a forward position while you sleep. This position will expand your airway space, allowing the air to circulate the breath better.

The devices can also be helpful if you snore or if you grind your teeth.
